Manmohan Singh shows off his biceps at press conference

In a move to silence his critics who have been attacking him as the weakest PM India has ever seen, Dr.Manmohan Singh showed off his biceps at a press conference today morning. Dr.Singh was visibly irritated with several media reports suggesting that he is a weak PM. He said: “Many mischievous elements have been making statements that I am the weakest PM India has ever seen. In fact some even more mischievous elements have been indulging in propaganda that I am the weakest PM India has never seen because of the rarity of my public appearances and my public addresses. Today I have called for this press conference to put an end to all this.” He then removed his shirt and showed his biceps and six-pack abs and asked the media cameramen to zoom in so that the entire nation can realize that he is not weak. “There have been weaker PMs. P.V.Narasimha Rao was weaker than me. And how can the nation forget Shri.Vajpayee? During the time he used to take to walk from north block to south block, there used to be a rule change at the centre. So slow was his gait. Was he not the weakest PM ever?” he asked the dumbfounded media persons. This act of the PM has won him some admirers, the most notable being Rakhi Sawant. “He is hot. I would love to marry him” was her first reaction. However when a reporter reminded her that she wanted to marry Baba Ramdev last week, she retorted “oops. Not a problem. I’ll marry both of them.”

The BJP spokesperson Shruthi reacted to the incident, in the afternoon, saying: “This is disgusting. How can a prime minister do this? Dr. Manmohan Singh has lost the respect of the people. He should step down immediately. Also the comptroller & auditor general of India should probe the source of the six-pack abs.” It is worth mentioning here that this is the 73rd time BJP is asking for the PM to step down, since the general elections in 2009. A BJP source who preferred to remain anonymous said proudly: “In fact the BJP leadership wanted the PM to step down on the day the UPA won the general elections in 2009. However we could not raise that demand immediately as the PM had not officially assumed office. So we had to wait for a few days before we could raise the demand. And since then there has been no looking back.”

Shri L.K. Advani, who has been on the offensive against the prime minister over the spate of scams in the country, asserted that this is the most corrupt government in the history of independent India. Shri Advani added: “What makes it worse is that the people hardly see the prime minister. He makes an appearance only when there is news of a scam. In fact, we have observed that he is using a pre-prepared text which is general so that it can be used whenever the news of a scam breaks out. He never accepts any wrongdoing on the part of the government. The PM lives in denial.” However Dr.Manmohan Singh denied even this.

Later in the evening, Dr. Manmohan Singh, spoke at a conference on ‘Corruption-free India’. When one of the members in the audience asked Dr. Singh about how he plans to deal with the menace of corruption, he replied that he is planning to create a new cabinet ministry of anti-corruption. However, he added that it was getting delayed because negotiations are still on with the coalition partners about who will head the ministry. He said that DMK is very keen on getting this portfolio. He concluded his lecture giving his views about the future of Indian economy – “We will achieve 9% GDP growth in FY 2011-12 and we should be able to maintain at least 9% for the next 3 years. Our inflation target is 5%. We hope to restrict fiscal deficit to 5.5% of GDP and corruption to 27.5% of GDP in the next fiscal year” he said.
